Well, the exposed aggregate we liked so much in the entry was basically ruined by the contractor when he was putting in the tile floor. We found this great aqua colored stone and decided to replace the floor ourselves. How hard could it be, right? WHAT A MESS!!! I'm sure they gave us the wrong size rocks. These boulders turned out to be way too large and hurt your feet when you walked on them, so..... Do you have any idea how miserable it is to chisel away semi-hard cement and 500 lbs. of rocks!
..   Well at least we found a use for all those rocks!
We did it! We found some smaller rocks called Salt & Pepper and tried it again. The new floor's a success and comfortable enough to walk on. We even mixed some glass marbles in with the stone. In a week or so we'll apply a clear sealer. Whew!
Paul builds us a spiffy new workbench with his new table saw! This is where we'll be assembling and painting all our signs and plaques from now on.
..   The original stain on the cabinets was looking pretty old and funky so they needed to be sanded and refinished. ... Once they're all sanded they'll get a cherry wood stain.

 ......

Why does it always seem like we're lugging
around rocks???
Paul ripped out the old redwood deck that was
here and I'm laying in the new flagstone patio.
The cracks will get filled with Scotch Moss.
